Sold out Dendrobium macrophyllum (gordonii) treated selfing #93447 x self (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). These seedlings have been treated to alter the chromosome count. This does not guarantee that they will be 4N. For more information go to Ploidy. The Species: This seed was given to me by a friend who has been growing this plant for many years. He knows it as Dendrobium gordonii. The parent plant came from the Coral Coast of Fiji. It has been also been known as Dendrobium macrophyllum var gordonii and it is currently considered a synonym of Dendrobium macrophyllum var macrophyllum. Expect a nice head of very long-lasting flowers with more than one inflorescence per growth. The plant can be from 15 to 25" tall. Culture: This should do well in intermediate to warm temperature. In the habitat there is less rain in the summer months, but it is never really dry. It can be grown mounted but is frequently grown potted in bark. Parent: Dendrobium macrophyllum (gordonii)
