Sold out Dendrobium rigidium outcross #4570 ('#1' x '#2') (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: Also known as Dockrillia rigidum, this is native to Australia, where they grow on trees and rock faces in low mountains, and New Guinea, where they are often found in mangrove swamps. The elevation range is from sea level to 2300 ft. Cultivated plants are frequently about 6" tall, but can be up to 16". It wil form mats as it gets larger. The fragrant flowers are sometimes arranged in a rosette. Culture: This species does best in warm to warm-intermediate conditions. In nature it experiences a drier winter. Mature plants are best grown mounted so the roots can dry quickly and acommodate the pendulous habit. Allow the plants to dry briefly before watering again. The plant will become pendulous.
