Sold out Dendrobium sulphureum outcross #2894 ('4962' x '4966') (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This miniature grows in cloud forest in mountains of New Guinea in moderate to moderately bright light at elevations from 6000 to 11,500 ft. The inflorescence normally carries 1 or 2 flowers, but can have up to 4 of the flowers that range from 1/2 to 1". Culture: This is a cool growing orchid. It does well in the same conditions as Dendrobium cuthbertsonii. It can be grown potted, but it has done better for me as a mounted plant. In pots I have had some success with New Zealand sphagnum moss in terra cotta, but it needed frequent repotting. Capsule parent: Dendrobium sulfureum '4962'
