Sold out Eltroplectris calcarata selfing #4825 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is found in the Caribbean as well as Colombia and Brazil at elevations from 900 to 3000 ft. It has been recorded from southern Florida, but it is not known if it still exists there. It grows in shade in moist soil and humus. The leaves are 12 to 14” tall and the inflorescence is 12” long with 3 to 12 flower. Culture: This is a cool to intermediate grower. Sphagnum moss works well. Keep it moist (but not sopping wet) in the growing season. A bit drier in the winter, but no complete drying. Fertilize with dilute fertilizer during the growing season. Grow in moderate light. Parent: Eltroplectris calcarata the flowers and the leaves.
