Jumellea arborescens #5885 sibling cross ('#3' x '5/29/20')(approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is a tall plant that can reach 3 ft. The leaves are about 4” long so even though it is tall, it doesn’t shade the way some large plants do. It is found in the Central Highlands of Madagascar at elevations from 3600 to 4600 ft where it grows on tree trunks in moss forest and also on rocks. Culture: Because of the size of the plant, it may be better to grow it potted. I would suggest bark or a bark mix. Try moderate light and regular watering with dilute applications of fertilizer. Cool to cool-intermediate temperatures should suit it. Parent plant: Jumellea arborescens. These images are used with the kind permission of the grower and photographer, Gilles Gruenenwald. |
