Sold out Jumellea ibityana selfing #2852 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is only found in Madagascar where it grows from 5000 to 6600 ft elevation on Mount Ibity. It is an lithophyte in nature, growing on quartzite. The flowers on my plant are just about 1" wide. The blooming plant below about 15" wide and is growing in a 4" pot in a fine bark mix. Most of the plant is hanging free. Culture: I have always grow this in a cool greenhouse (50F minimum winter nights). It is hanging over a bench so only gets watered when the bench does, that is about very 4 days or so. On hotter days it will also get a misting if it isn't going to be watered. It gets dilute fertilizer at every watering. It is in moderateley bright light. Parent: Jumellea ibityana 'Stony Point' |
