Leptotes bicolor outcross #4104 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is found in Brazil at elevations from 1650 to 2950 ft. The growths are upright, terete and up to 4” tall. It has 1 to 3 flowers per inflorescence that open in succession. the flowers are fragrant, up to 2” and long lasting. Culture: I have always grown this species mounted on cork but it can be grown potted or in a basket. The roots like to dry quickly, so the pot should be relatively small. Grow in filtered light/bright shade and water daily during the growing season with a slight lessening in the winter, but not a hard dry rest. It does very well in intermediate temperatures. Parents: I do not have images of the parents so show images that are representative of the species. |
