Neocogniauxia hexaptera outcross #6445 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: A cloud forest plant from Haiti and the Domincan Republic. It is an epiphyte that grows in cool, moist, shady conditions. It occurs from 3300 to 4300 ft elevation. The bright orange flowers are about 2" wide. The genus name is pronounced neo-kohn-yó-ee-a. Culture: I grow this in the same conditions as I give to pleurothallids in cool to cool-intermediate temperatures and moderate shade. This includes even moisture year round, good quality water with dilute fertilizer. I have done best with it mounted. It is important to remount or repot it before the mount/medium deteriorates. I do not have images of the parents so show here a few examples of the species.
