Sold out Rossioglossum insleayi outcross #4214 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: One of the lesser known species of the genus Rossioglossum. The plants are about 12” tall and the inflorescence from 12 to 16” with 5 to 10 of the 3” wide flowers which are faintly fragrant. It occurs in Mexico on the west coast at elevations from 5000 to 7200 ft. Culture: The conditions in winter are cool and the summer is intermediate. The rainy season is from June through September with a sharp decrease for the rest of the year. There is some rain and always some dew, so the plants shouldn’t go without some moisture. A light watering and occassional misting will keep the bulbs from shriveling. I have always grown this potted in bark. This is donated seed and I don't have images of the parents. I show here a plant from my collection. |
