Sold out Sarcochilus dilatatus wild #4293 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is found from central eastern Queensland to northeastern New South Wales in Australia from sea level to 1300 ft elevation. It grows on small trunks and twigs and occasionally as a lithophyte. It grows in dry scrub (often along water courses) and in drier rainforest with good humidity. Culture: I have always grown this species mounted on cork or hardwood with no moisture retentive media on the roots. It can be watered frequently with drying a bit between waterings. I grow it in a cool greenhouse in moderately shady conditions with a lessening of water in the winter. Mine get misted several times a week in winter and are in humid conditions. They can be grown warmer also. Sarcochilus dilatatus: represntative species from my collection. |
