Sold out Stanhopea naurayi selfing #2566 ('Stony Point' x self) (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This plant came to me when some friends shut down their orchid business. When I bloomed it I sent images to Rudolf Jenny who identified it as a very rare species from Puno, Peru named Stanhopea naurayi. He had described the species in 2005 and said he only knew of one other plant. The seedlings in flask have been very vigorous and the original plant as been very easy to grow. It is quite compact for the genus Culture: I grow this in sphagnum moss in a plastic basket with openings large enough for the spike to emerge below. It is watered year-round and given dilute fertilizer. I keep it moist but not soggy. It is in growing and moderately bright light, just a bit less than cattleya light. Parent: Stanhopea naurayi 'Stony Point'
