4-way Isolating Clock Distribution

Contributed by WB7ABP

Measured S21 at 0 dBm input

Features

  • Supports up to 4 devices from a single 5-30 MHz precision clock input
  • Provides common mode  isolation between multiple devices receiving the clock signal.

  • Four-layer, through-hole plated, silk-screen printed PCBs
  • Operation

Provide 8-16VDC at 40 mA to the barrel connector.
Connect the rear clock input to be distributed.
Connect front outputs Clock1 through Clock2 to the receiving device(s).

This may be distributing and isolating a lab/shack 10 MHz standard or perhaps a 25 MHz or 27 MHz external reference for an SDR receiver or transmitter such as an RX888, QDX or other radio.

This may be usable to distribute higher frequency clocks such as a 66.672 MHz clock to multiple KiwiSDRs which need to remain isolated from one another.

Output power is slew-rate limited by the internal OpAmps and will generally limit around +4 dBm but if more power or higher voltage output is necessary, the series 50 ohm resistors may be reduced or bypassed to obtain almost +10 dBm from each output.
