Running to fast is dangerous to you health. Check out these photos and you can see what happens when you slip and fall with an outstretched hand. This can cause Scaphoid-Lunate dissociation. You will need surgery at the hospital where they will put pins in your wrist to keep it in place while it heals as shown below.

The third Xray taken August 17 2000 shows that after all the surgery, therapy and getting the pins removed, it did not heal perfectly.   There is still a gap between the Scaphoid and Lunate as was shown in the original X-ray at the time of the injury, only not as bad.  The doctors can do only so much and the rest is up us and how well our body heals.  Things are never the same.  

Below is where the incision was made for the surgery and the wrist brace which I wore for almost 12 weeks.
