John Case^1574,1760 was born in 1616 in England, Aylesham.¹⁵⁷⁴ He died on 21 February 1704 at the age of 88 in Connecticut Colony, Hartford Co., Simsbury.¹⁵⁷⁴ John Case was born in Aylesham, England. He sailed to America from Gravesend, England, on September 3, 1635, on the ship "Dorset" and landed at Newport, Rhode Island. He first settled at Hartford, Connecticut. Then he spent some years in Newton, Long Island, but in 1656 he returned to Connecticut and was living in New London. The following year he moved to Windsor were he was married and his first five children were born. In the spring of 1669 he moved to Massacoe, which is now Simsbury. He and Joshua Holcombe were deputies of the court for Simsbury in 1670.
John was a farmer and owner of large acreages of land. In 1670 he was a Representative in the Connecticut General Assembly and served some years. At one time he was one of a committee to invite Rev. Mr. Stone to become the Resident Minister and to look after the school affairs of the town. John Case was recognized for his moral influence as well as his business integrity. The records show that he acquired a very considerable estate for the times. Sarah Spencer and John Case were married about 1657 in Connecticut Colony, Hartford Co., Windsor.¹⁷⁶¹

Sarah Spencer¹⁷⁶² was born in 1636 in Massachusetts Colony, Middlesex Co., Cambridge.¹⁵⁷⁴ She died on 3 November 1691 at the age of 55 in Connecticut Colony, Hartford Co., Simsbury.¹⁵⁷⁴ She was buried in Connecticut Colony, Hartford Co., Simsbury. The Spencers were scions of an ancient family in southern England.
