Roadside Attractions and Other Images
Photography by Howard Bruensteiner
Why Photography?
I photograph to share.
To communicate what I saw and felt to whomever might appreciate it.
My photographs are not complete until they are viewed.
As I pursue my hobby of traveling the backroads, particularly in California,
I never know when an image will appear around the next bend.
Having traveled virtually every road you see on a California state scale map,
I can tell you that almost anything show's up in this diverse state.
Have you ever turned to a traveling companion and said,
"Hey! Look at that!"
This is what happens to me when a photograph is born.
A photograph can capture a moment with credible, convincing realism.
You weren't there, but I was.
This is what I saw, I found it captivating, and I'd like to share it with you.
I hope you find value in it too.
We really do co-inhabit this same planet and share in its experiences.
We just aren't all in the same place at the same time.
