Northeast Berkeley, May 2018
The "Berkeley Woods" neighborhood was for many years a silvan refuge from the city. Formerly home to an iris and an orchid nursery as well as a Lutheran seminary, it includes homes of all sizes dating from about 1917 to the 1970's and a number of fine gardens (which I was more interested in). Recently two groups led walks through the area a day apart; here are some photos.

The chapel at the former seminary is modeled after one by Le Corbusier in Ronchamp, France.
