Guest Poet Carol Helpard-Bleichert
Me
I reach out but cannot feel,
Numb from reality.
I speak but cannot hear,
Deaf from profanity.
I walk but am standing still,
Nowhere to go
And smell but cannot taste,
Wise, but do not know.
I see, but I am blind to things around me,
And understand,
But don't understand why things should be.
I remember, but forget what I am
here for
And I hate, but love means more to me.

Carol Helpard-Bleichert's questions:
Are you able to understand what I am saying?
Is the format acceptable or should I change it?
Are there any areas you feel need to be adjusted?
