Claudia's been working in the administration of the University of California at Berkeley for nearly two decades. In times like these, decisions must be made, but they can be really tough. One way to help keep a perspective is by competetive whaleboat racing. Claudia's Rowverines teammates at the Solano Rowing Club even had two special-designed boats made for them in China.
Check out this video from a 2009 race on the San Francisco Bay. The bright blue whaleboat is one of the new ones, and Claudia is in the stern, port side, visible in the first and third legs of the race. She's the one in dark glasses, closest to the steering till. Wow!
I wonder - did Juan Manuel de Ayala's crew take one of their depth sounding at this very spot, more than two centuries ago?
