Probert's Since the story had amnesiac "Walter Williams" (Brian Donlevy, here in overalls) going to work at a Larkspur gas station and falling in love with its owner (Ella Raines), the biggest part of the location photography was done at and around Hil Probert's Mobile gas station and the Probert home next door. Now, of course, the former is part of the Lark Creek Shops and the latter, the Lark Creek Inn. The young chap with his foot on the bumper is an actor, although his young wife sitting in the jalopy may be a Larkspur extra. You don't see Probert's car showroom in the film, but that's one of his shiny new Kaisers or Frazers at the extreme right.
