This editor is nice you can embed files to a page easily by pointing to them, but make sure they are in your websites folder and are relatively linked to all your pages.
Some times it might put things out of place, but you drag them into place in the design view/ split view. It makes floating objects to the left or right easy.

I enjoyed this assignment and learned there are much easier ways to create HTML than to code it manually. The assignment emphasized the fact that it is important to know HTML coding before you try to use an editor.

HTML editor:
Arachnophilia is a free HTML text editor which can be downloaded at the following URL:
http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/
Supports unicode
unicode-supports multiple language alphabets.
The editor works well and builds all the basic code for a webpage automatically, that is to say it generates "html", "head", "title", "meta", and "body" tags and fills in the standard code for XHTML with English. There are buttons to generate the basic tags in pairs, I'm sure that's standard in any editor. Arachnophilia will not only edit HTML, but can also apparently compile and run Java and C++.
Arachnophilia has a "set look and feel" section under tools that purports to make it look more like a Windows product, that's interesting! Ok, apparently that's the default; think I'll go with the "CDE/motif" setting instead, for a little more contrast between the work area and the rest of Arachnophilia.
This may be more about me than about Arachnophilia, but I'm finding it difficult to adjust to the fact that the text doesn't wrap as I type a line. I think this is intentional; it certainly makes it easier to see the important tags and structure, since each paragraph is reduced to a single line no matter how much text is involved.
I've already seen the editor bomb twice when I went to open new files or save files, not sure what that's about. One of the reviews mentions this failing.

There's documentation, but I haven't found a tutorial per se. The documentation is at:

I placed my Editor Review underneath my Lesson 1 Assignment. I really enjoyed using Dreamweaver; I know if I had started 50.11A with it instead of notpad I would have been lost. Now that I know some basic code I can begin using Dreamweaver appropriately.

This is actually from my HTML 2 class last semester that I ended up dropping because I wasn't able to understand it online. Everything's there and I decided that it would be useless redoing it all when it was already there.

Dreamweaver was a lot larger than I thought. 345 megs was huge. It took me a few times to get to the correct html page. I tried going to the "Dreamweaver Page" rather than HTML option.
This looks like a great application! CSS is still a challenge. I'm excited to learn more about it.

I was glad to create another website from scratch. It gave me the chance to review many of the steps and "elements" in a very practical manner. Although I actually did a lot of cutting and pasting (and then editing the content to change file names, etc.)I still had to pay attention to adding and closing tags. I also was able to use the Editor in a practical maner.

I found that my embed-presentation.css and presentation.css files have been corrupted by downloading Dreamweaver. When I try to open these CSS files in my HTMLwork folder, Dreamweaver loads instead.

All in all, I spent about two hours trying to figure things out. I had the hardest time geting the split screen to view the code and wha the page looks like. I used this process for creating the page I uploaded for homework number one.

I think we need to just pick one and stick with the editor that we pick. Then talk about it as we use the editor in class. Keeping everyone on the same page.
