1) The starting page, called "index.html" is subdivided into three frames. The first frame, named "top", is linked to "head.html", which opens the top image and headline. The second frame, named "links", is linked to "Links.html", which lists all seven links to my entire website. The third frame, named "main", is linked to "home.html", which opens the first web page. 2) the button called "Resources" is a link that breaks out of the frame. 3) The button named "Contact Us" is linked to the new window and a new browser window.

The naviga.html open into the "left" frame. I have made all the links on the left frame (the navigation bar) active, they open in the "main" frame. The header.html link opens in the "top" frame. The bottom link of the navigation bar is to my art site and launches a new browser window outside of the frameset. The top link in the navigation bar "HOME" when clicked opens in the frameset as a whole new window obliterating the frameset unless you use the back button on your browser. (I would like to know a better way to do that in html since I then I have lost all that hard-won and necessary formating of the frameset.)

On the home page you will have the top frame, which is the Header, and the bottom frame, which has all the links. On the header I have added the attributes of marginwidth and scrolling. I have also added scrolling to the bottom frame. On the About me page, there are three links to other websites. The MySpace link will break from the frame. The Google link will open a new window.

This is pretty self explanitory on the pages. Open the page. Open the link in the top. Open the last new link in main. This loads in to the named frame. The new links are targeted for main - except as noted in the particular paragraphs. One link tells you that it will open in a new window. I wasn't sure about breaking out of frames. I put in code for , but it did not open any link on the page. I wasn't sure that it should or would. That is all. Thanks. B.

For this assignment, I re-designed my Homework Organizer page using frames. I also created a copy called frames.html, for which the link is named "Frames." So basically the page will not appear to have changed when you click on the frames link; however, the Frames page will open in a new window. The information about which links load where is on the Homework Organizer page.

This was an interesting lesson. I don't think I necessarily care for frames - seems they almost have more difficulties than assets. I have been stymied trying to accommodate strict XHTML, as we began learning in 58.51A, with the text book which offers HTML as well as XHTML. I have found W3 School to provide lots of hints and ideas on how to accommodate structural design elements (tags and attributes) that I have not been able to implement until we learn CSS. Very difficult, but I have figured some of it out. All of my pages have validated with W3. This website was meant to amuse. Link to "Marvin" does a break out. Link to "Home: Warriors of the Net" creates a new window. It is all in fun. One should NEVER take themselves TOO seriously!!! ;>

The above URL takes you to my Homework Page. Once there click the link listed under Lesson 2 (frames.html). That will take you to my frames assignment. I chose to use three frame rows. The top frame is named "header" and has a link to header.html. The center frame is named "main" and has a link to index.html. The bottom frame is named "links1" and is linked to links1.html. Once you are in my site, you can click on the "Crystals" link in the bottom frame and be taken to a new browser window. Clicking on the "Products" link in the bottom frame link to a break out window.
