Our Planning Commission

The Planning commission is an advisory board for our City Council. The seven members are appointed by the City Council for a four year term. Because they will help shape Healdsburg's future, it is important to know something about these people.

Planning Commission Agenda

Chairperson

Phyllis Baldenhofer

433 – 1660

baldenhofer@earthlink.net

Phyllis and her husband Chris moved to Healdsburg in 1991 and opened the George Alexander House Bed & Breakfast on Matheson. After six years, they sold it and now are very involved in community affairs. Phyllis works hard at being a good Planning Commissioner. She is sincere, tries to be fair, and has less of an overt agenda that most of the others. Chris serves on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Jim Brush

433 - 6365

taxgod@sonic.net

jim@bandbcpa.com (office)

Certified Public Accountant

http://www.bandbcpa.com/

Work: (707) 433-8800 Healdsburg Property Developer. Bit of a hot head. He's never seen a new building development he didn't like.

Alan Bruce Cohen

431 – 2729 Work: 528-3995

abcaia@sonic.net  (office)

Architect, ABC Architects, 887 2nd. St. Santa Rosa. Healdsburg Property Developer. A wannabe nouveau-riche who tries very hard to sound like a tough hard-nosed "conservative" friend of the Healdsburg good-ol-boys. Pro business, pro development.

Jerry Eddinger

433 – 5870

Building Contractor, Former Mayor and City Councilperson. If there is anything happening in town, Jerry knows about it, is part of it, or is responsible for it, and he will certainly get a piece of the action. Every door in City Hall is open to him.

George Small

433 - 5008

sylgeo@aol.com

George is a semi retired - SFSU Lecturer in Geography  (MA 1971). George tries hard to not sound like an echo, but after several years on the commission is still looking for that elusive original insight.

Jon Worden

431 - 2233

jonworden@earthlink.com

Jon is a practicing Architect with an office behind his home on Matheson Street. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, respected opinions. All we could ask for in a Planning Commissioner. He tends sees Healdsburg with rose colored glasses.

James David Wood DDS

431 – 2646

Commissioner Wood is the newest member of the Planning Commission. He has a Dental Office in Cloverdale. As junior member, he is still learning the ropes but unfortunately is modeling his style on Mr. Cohen.
