Around 1973, Morrie went to Nashville to meet with Chet in his RCA offices, and presented him with a custom made "Axe" guitar. The guitar was built from a real axe handle, bought at Sears. The body (axe blades) were fashioned from hard maple, and the entire "axe" was quite playable! Several more were made for other people after the story appeared in various Nashville news sources, and even the National Enquirer! Photo by Marcie Jones, © 1973
