Welcome to my online garden...

Welcome to my online garden featuring photos of perennials, shrubs, trees, and succulents. Since the time I spend making teaching materials is time I can't spend in the garden, or making quilts, I find making a Web site about those subjects is comforting.
I hope you enjoy using the site as you try and understand the concepts presented on the CD. Maybe someday you can visit my actual garden which is much more fun than a "virtual visit."
Features of the Site
I have included photos, links to other sites, and my own unique ramblings on the joy of working in the dirt. If you would like me to link to your site, please send me a note. lhemenway@santarosa.edu
About this Site
This Web site was created as a teaching tool for several classes i teach at Santa Rosa Junior College. I use this site for "Creating Web Pages - HTML 1" CIS 68.51A/B, "Web Page Tips and Tricks" CIS 158.1, and "Cascading Style Sheets" CIS 58.51C. By creating a site about my garden I give myself an excuse to leave the computer at least once a day, and take a look outside at my beautiful plants.
I will use this site on all 3 templates included in this CD. You may find it interesting to view the site as it displays on all 3 templates. The content for each page will be very similar, but the look of the site changes dramatically from template to template.
Garden Quotations
I wanted to share my favorite Gardening Quotations. You can bury a lot
of troubles digging in the dirt. ~Author Unknown.
That advice has certainly
worked for me. When stress builds up I start pulling weeds.
Another favorite is:
Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity.
