Tamra Sanchez

The Artist

Tamra Sanchez moved to Sonoma County in 1981 from her hometown Sunnyvale, California. From day one she has appreciated the beauty of the area, and from this she gains inspiration that is expressed in her colorful landscapes.

Tamra Sanchez

Art has always been a part of Tamra's life, beginning when she was a young girl watching her grandfather painting the Arizona landscape from his back yard patio. She has dabbled in many different mediums, but paints mainly in pastel and watercolor. When painting, her focus is on capturing and interpreting the landscape and surroundings. The vibrant colors and velvety textures of pastels allow her to fully express what she feels and sees. Although mostly self taught, she has had the opportunity to study with several local artists as well as attend artist retreats in the south of France and in San Miguel de Allende Mexico.
Over the years, she has participated in numerous shows and events and continues her participation each year in Sonoma County's Open studio tours, ARTrails. Most recently she joined the Local Color Gallery in Bodega Bay, California. You may view more of her work by visiting the gallery or contacting her directly to arrange a personal visit at her studio in Santa Rosa, California.
Tamra teaches workshops and group lessons in pastel and watercolor from her Hawk Hill Studio in Santa Rosa.
