Be sure and check out the SF Alternative Music Festival, featuring some of the best "out"-jazz and improvised music from the Bay Area plus some exciting out-of-town guests (Seth Miserka plays a killer aggressive sax, e.g.) ... it runs May 8-12, mostly in Oakland.
I'll be previewing the festival this week and next week (May 10), and also on a special midnight-3 a.m. show on Friday May 10, when I sub for fellow jazz DJ Ben.
