FUN WITH OVERLAYS! So, Acid Mothers Temple has released their version of Terry Riley's "In C." And to round out the CD, they've created pieces called "In E" (lots of E chords on guitars) and "In D" (one long D-note drone). Separately, Gebhard Ullmann's Clarinet Trio Two has a track called "Der Ton A," in which all three clarinetists play various A notes only.

So .... I started by playing "Der Ton A," followed by "In D." Then it occured to me that D and A should harmonize well (blandly, but well), so I re-played "Der Ton A" while "In D" was still going. Then KZSU's own Dr. D called up to suggest I throw "In C" over that whole mess -- and I did -- and we had C and D and A all going at once. Thanks for the suggestion, Dr. D!
