A few new discs of note:

The Peter Brotzmann Chicago Tentet has two great new CDs out, full of long, energetic, almost rockin' compositions.
Andrew Hill's big band album, Beautiful Day, is quite nice; great to see Andrew in action again
Of course, Sonny Simmons is a well respected old cat ... Live in Paris is a recent recording combining a few standards with Sonny's own songs
Okka Disk has released two great CDs by the Peter Brotzmann Chicago Tentet: Short Visit to Nowhere and Broken English. Both feature sprawling, exciting compositions by Tentet members such as Mars Williams, Fred Lonberg-Holm and Ken Vandermark. And they've got William Parker (bass) and Roy Campbell (trumpet) as special guests.

The CDs that are "in rotation" reside on a shelf just outside the studio door. So if I'm feeling lazy or tired, I'll concentrate more of my show on "in-rotation" music. Guess how I felt today.
