Friday, September 13th, 2002 ... 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. ... KZSU, 90.1 FM

This week, Warren Zevon disclosed that he's got terminal lung cancer. No, it's not jazz-related, but I wanted to give him a spin anyway to start the show, particularly considering the wealth of (now ironic) death songs he's penned.

Did a quickie spotlight on Wolfgang Fuchs and the FMP record label, highlighting some cool, abstract bass-clarinet improvs from Fuchs' new album. More info on FMP can be had at www.free-music-production.de.

The late start was due to a Stanford volleyball broadcast.
