Did a bit of promo for Marco Eneidi, who's playing tonight at the Hemock Tavern in San Francisco. Great saxophonist with a speedy, energetic style often compared to Jimmy Lyons -- he doesn't get as many gigs as he deserves.
Tonight there's also an interesting project called "sound/shift" happening at 21 Grand in Oakland -- a marathon improv session performed in 20-minute shifts by varying groups of musicians. Should be fun... anyway, if you happen to be reading this today (Jan. 10), you might consider checking out one of these events -- see http://www.bayimproviser.com for details.
