Nice record that pairs Rivers on sax/flute with two drummers: Eisenstadt on the drum kit and Rudolph on hand drums. The CD has a nice "jam" feel, thanks to all that drumming and just one lead voice. That kind of sound is a specialty of Rudolph's; he owns the Meta label and has used it to record bands ranging from a duo with Omar Sosa to a glorious big-band plus drum circle, co-led by Yusef Lateef. Anyway, "Vista" is really cool stuff, and of course it's great to see Sam is still in action.
