Adolf Haag, another missionary who served in the Middle East, passed away of Typhus in 1892.

President Joseph Booth served a mission to the Middle East and then served as Mission President from 1903-1908 and 1921-1928.  While serving as Mission President, he gave a tribute to the four missionaries who died while serving missions in the Middle East.  "Each one has gained a good name, better than precious ointment.  Each died in honor and in the harness of the Priesthood, and surely the rest of each will be a glorious one."  On Dec 5, 1928, in Aleppo, Syria, while continuing his service as Mission President in the Middle East, President Booth became the 5th missionary to die while serving in the Middle East.
