On Nov 3, 2001, several days after we left Hawaii, Elder M Russell Ballard was in Laie to dedicate the "Iosepa", the 57 foot long double hulled canoe pictured here.  4000 people attended the ceremonies.  The canoe, carved by BYU Hawaii students, will serve as a floating classroom for the students, teaching them about the ancient traditions of sailing, navigating and other aspects of Hawaiian culture.
