The Nauvoo log cabin of Mary Field and her family - After Mary's father passed away, the family (including Mary's mother and 5 siblings) were so poor, they often shared a pint of cornmeal a day.  They were driven out of Nauvoo in 1846, but returned for a short time to make preparations to travel west.  Before going West, they saw the Nauvoo Temple burned.  On their way West, an Indian Chrief, attracted to Mary's curly red hair, attempted to buy her many times.  The family made it to Utah, and Mary married William Garner, and together they had 10 children.  Mary died at the age of 107 1/2 .
