This is the most difficult text we will read during the term, at least in terms of managing at the level of the language itself. Conceptually it is less challenging than some. If you feel that preparing for class is more of a challenge than you had anticipated, please keep in mind that you won't encounter another text this semester that is as "not like" the modern Japanese you are training yourself in.
