Cruz Nidan (Sempei), began his Martial Arts training in 1980 under Bob Alegria in San Pedro, California.    In the spring of 1982 he joined Don Buck's School of the Tiger.  It was at this time that Alejo met Hanshi Buck, and began his Kyokushin training.  He trained with Hanshi Buck until the summer of 1985 when he joined the U. S. Army.  While in the U. S. Army in Germany Alejo trained in various other Martial Arts disciplines, but found none of them challenged him as much as Kyokushin.  In 1989 Alejo was reassigned from Germany to Virginia were he joined Wurtz's Karate Studio Inc.  The chief instructor was Sensei Tony Wurtz (3rd Dan).  Sensei Wurtz gave instruction in  Kyokushin under the auspices of USA Oyama Karate with Headquarters in New York.  Sensei Wurtz received training under the instruction of Saiko Shihan S. Oyama.  While a member of Wurtz's Karate Studio Inc. Alejo trained under Sensei Wurtz and had the honor of meeting and attending seminars conducted by Saiko Shihan Oyama.  Upon completing his term of service with The U. S. Army Alejo returned to Sonoma County in 1994 where he helped form and now instructs at this School of the Tiger.
