Our House at Night
c.1962. Photographer: Paul. 116 (2-1/2 x 4-1/4) Kodak negative. Time exposure.

So it's the wrong decade, but it's the oldest (if not only) shot of the house at night. The lighting is not completely accurate, as I set up a couple extra lamps, one coming from the left aimed toward the fish pond, and another behind the boxwood bush aimed up at the front porch. The squiggle is from me writing out "PAUL" with a little flashlight.

All that greenery cascading down the front porch is the honeysuckle vine. This must be in winter, judging from the burlap sacks spread out over the lantana to keep it the frost from killing it.

I'm not sure where the old folding camera I took this shot came from. It's not the same one used for the 116-format negatives we have from the 1930s and 40s. I liked fooling around with it because it could take time exposures.

Here, I'd set it up in the cactus garden; you can see a couple branches of the big spiny one along the lower left edge.
