Larkspur > Larkspur Gallery > July 4th Parade
|
July 4, 1974 The annual Fourth of July Parade, in the 300 block of Magnolia Ave. Corte Madera Postmaster Omar McNally, my boss at the time, was president of the Corte Madera Chamber of Commerce that year, and here he shares a ride with his Larkspur counterpart, Realtor Maggie Walker. Up the hill in our house at 9 Arch St., I probably have a couple microphones stuck out the windows recording the parade in stereo, as was my wont in those days. Unfortunately, all the bands, presumably tuckered out after the climb up from downtown, rarely played anything along our block. Generally, all I wound up with were drums beating a cadence as they marched by. Kodacolor negative by Paul Penna |
