Larkspur > Larkspur Gallery > Evening at Redwood High |
May 1962 Redwood at twilight, my sophomore year. Phase 2 of the construction is proceding, as you can see from the Little Theater nearing completion at the left. Some event is obviously going on, hence the full parking lot; what it was, I don't know. I don't recall going to even one sporting event. I do, however, remember the first words of the Alma Mater and, thanks to my copy of the 1960-61 "Follow the Redwood Trail" student handbook, I can fill in the rest, as printed: All Hail Redwood High, And Honor her name. We're Loyal to the end of each and every game Her Glories we acclaim. We sing our praise to thee, In trail [sic] and victory. All Hail Redwood High. -C. Arthur Wigell Mr. Wigell taught chorus, but I only had him for study hall. click here to see the student handbook I admit one reason I included this shot was for the classic cars, including, from the left, a '62 Chevy Bel Air, '62 Rambler Classic and a '60 Chevy.
