Larkspur > Larkspur Gallery > From King Mountain

March 21, 1956 Here I am, at age 9, perched on a rock on a slope near the saddle of Little King Mountain, gazing over Larkspur and the slough. Just to the right of me in the distance can be seen a dredge working on filling the future Greenbrae Marina. In the center, grading equipment is at work in the flat brown area on which construction of Redwood High School was soon to start. The homes along the near ridge are on Cedar Ave.; at the center bottom, the hairpin turn is the intersection of Cedar and Citron. Click here for a picture I took of my brother Will on the rock that same day. Attempts to find that rock today are hampered by the thick growth of manzanita, broom and poison oak now covering the slope. Ektachrome slide by Will Penna
