| 1945 or 1946 Looking north across the slough toward Greenbrae, taken from the slope of Palm Hill approximately where Blue Rock Court is today. My brother Will is standing near what is now the corner of Lakeside Drive and Cheyenne Court. The hill, actually an island, in the center is now the site of the main Redwood High School Building. The smaller one to the left was also cut down and is about where the Tamalpais High School District office is today. Also at the left is the easternmost section of Heather Gardens. Across the center run the railroad tracks, now a public access and bike path. Within a year, streets and houses would start appearing on the vacant Greenbrae hills. Photo by Rosemary Penna U'Ren |
