Brelje & Race Proud Partner of the Annual Russian River Watershed Cleanup

Garbage Collected at the Russian River Watershed CleanupBrelje & Race continues to support the Russian River Watershed Cleanup, a project of the Sonoma County Conservation Council, by providing funding and creative content for the event’s website, assisting the Russian River Watershed Cleanup Committee, the primary coordinators of the event, with organization and staffing and having many of our employees participate in the cleanup weekend. This annual event takes place the fourth Saturday of September.

Over the years, the Brelje & Race team has joined hundreds of volunteers, including local high school and university students, community leaders, and area businesses to remove garbage from the beaches, trailheads, tributary streams, and river bottom of 55 miles of the Russian River between Cloverdale and Duncan Mills. The cleanup effort included separating the trash to sort out recyclable materials.

The Russian River is a vital resource in Northern California providing water for residential and agricultural use, a popular summer vacation destination, one of the most heavily used rivers for canoeing in the nation during summer months, and habitat for thirty-four species of fish including three endangered salmonid species.

Please visit the Russian River Watershed Cleanup website at www.russianrivercleanup.org for more information about this effort.
