Environmental Planning & Permitting
Brelje & Race maintains a professional environmental planning
staff that has become recognized for its expertise in the
preparation of environmental review documents and successful
permit negotiations. By staying abreast of ever changing
regulations and the evolution of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA),
we help are able to keep your project on track to successful and
timely completion. Daily interaction between engineers and
planners at Brelje & Race provides an opportunity for the
sharing of ideas and perspectives, leading to project designs
that encompass both sound engineering practices and a respect
for natural resources.
Environmental permitting can result in significant cost and
time delays if not appropriately coordinated. Our recommendation
and coordination of early involvement with agencies such as the
Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), the California
Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) and, where potential impacts
to federal jurisdictional waters could occur, the US Army Corps
of Engineers (USACE), has proven beneficial on recent projects.
Our environmental staff is more than capable of coordinating the
most favorable determinations possible from these agencies.
