Project: Willow Creek Ranch

Client: Mendocino Redwood Company

Willow Creek Ranch is located on over 3,000 acres of land in West Sonoma County, southwesterly of the little community Duncans Mills. The entire exterior perimeter of the ranch is approximately 80,000 lineal feet.

Mendocino Redwood Company, owner of Willow Creek Ranch at the time, was trying to sell a portion of the land to the Sonoma County Open Space District to be included in Sonoma Coast State Beach land. As a condition of sale, boundary survey would need to be conducted of the perimeter of the ranch. Although large portions of the ranch’s perimeter had been previously surveyed, gaps remained that needed to be surveyed that when laced together with past surveys, would create one continuous boundary perimeter.

Interior surveys were also performed to locate existing selected roads, cross country routes, and ridgelines that served as alignments for new lots and easements. The total interior lineal footage field surveyed was approximately 85,000 lineal feet (16 miles).
