#374 Tulamniu Indian Site
Old Yokuts village of Tulamniu named Buena Vista by Spanish commander Fages
1772 (one of first place names in south San Joaquin Valley). Fr. Zalvidea again recorded site
1806. This village was occupied for several centuries. 1933-34 site excavated by Smithsonian
Institution.
Nothing remains of this site.
300 ft SE of Block House #BV4, 1.1 mi N of Buena Vista pumping station, 8 mi E of Taft (CA Aqueduct mile 249.85).
