Home of Captain Salvador Vallejo. He was the brother of General Mariano G.
Vallejo, Sonoma's founder. Built by indian labor, 1836-1846. Occupied by Captain Vallejo and
family until Bear Flag Party seized Sonoma, June 14, 1846.
Cumberland College, Presbyterian co-educational boarding school, located here 1858-1864.
