Whereas
on behalf of the City and County of San
Francisco, I am extremely proud to recognize and
honor Don Neely's Royal Society Jazz Orchestra and
San Francisco's long tradition of excellence and
creativity in music; and
Whereas
the American music called "Jazz" has a
particularly
stellar history in the City of San
Francisco;
and
Whereas
Don Neely's Royal Society Jazz
Orchestra,
an eleven member ensemble, has been
entertaining
San Francisco audiences with creative
and
excellent vintage Jazz for twenty years; and
Whereas
the propulsive rhythms and inventive
harmonies
of the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra has
brought
both pleasure and renown to the City of San
Francisco;
now
Therefore
Be It Resolved That I, Frank M.
Jordan,
Mayor of the City and County of San
Francisco,commend
the Royal Society Jazz
Orchestra
for its many contributions to San
Francisco's
jazz tradition and do hereby proclaim
Wednesday,
October 18, 1995 as...
