SMB Technik has recognized the need for a beverage can filler and seamer to serve the needs of small producers.  The problem with existing equipment on the market is that it has either a single head seamer and is too slow for anything but laboratory use or the whole machine is too big and expensive.  Our answer to this problem is a proposed series of machines with a maximum speed of 150 cans/min of a 12 oz. fill.

Can seaming technology is very precise and needs to be done in an exact, reproducible and reliable manner.  We are starting small.  SMB Technik will make a 6 valve filler and 2 head seamer in a monoblock configuration.  This machine will be displayed at the Japanese Food and Brewing trade show (Brewtex) in Tokyo at the end of February, 1999.  Once this machine is installed and the reliability assured during field operating conditions, we will proceed with larger machines.  

These machines will be capable of filling either carbonated or still beverages depending upon the customer requiements.
