August 1958 My dog Missie catches the eye of one of the pom-pom girls who were practicing in the parking lot of Redwood High the year it opened, and two years before I started attending (class of 1964). When the school was in the planning stages, legendary Larkspur librarian Helen Wilson suggested the new school be given a name associated with a local Indian tribe, which phonetically was "Lickituit."
