Ten units of archers can accompany the army. In game terms they are irregular Bw(I). In the later French Ordonnance army list they are listed as Francs archers with the added description “[they] practised shooting, but did not train collectively, were held in low regard, and frequently ran away. Contemporaries accused them of being able to kill only chickens.” I occassionally run them in conjuction with the irregular crossbows to field a large, cheap block of bow. God forbid, however, that anything nasty actually get in contact with them!
